points on graph that tangent line is horizontal?

Find all points on the graph of the function f(x) = 2 sin x + sin^2x at which the tangent line is horizontal. Consider the domain (0. 2pie)

how would you go about doing this? I know I must find the derivative? or is there a better way??

Find the derivative; it’s the slope of the tangent line. A horizontal line has a slope of 0.

“Tangent horizontal” ability the spinoff is 0. Calculate the spinoff, working example utilising the quotient rule. Then set it equivalent to 0 and remedy for x. in case you employ the quotient rule you will finally end up with a denominator of (x^2 + a million)^2. do not difficulty appropriate to the denominator. to be certain that the full fraction to be equivalent to 0, the numerator ought to be 0. So the equation you will remedy for x is “numerator = 0”.
