Geography homework help.?

ok. here is my q.

In what city would you locate a professional sports team and list three geographical reasons (population, ect.;) as to why. Also, tell what type of sports team it would be, what they would be called, and what their mascot is.

ok, basically, i am clueless. i am genrally very good at our projects he gives us but this kinda beats me. I love football and i am choosing that as my sport. I am probably going to choose Frankfort, Kentucky as my city and i am a going to call my team the “Red Pheonixs” (i couldn’t exactly think of one and i am sure u guys have better suggestions.) and their mascot would obviously be a pheonix.

feel free to stray from my city, mascot, and team title but not the sport. any help would be appriciated. thanx so much!!

Hockey or Basketball team in KC…because they just built a brand new arena and have no teams. 1. They have a 444,965 poputlation which makes them the 40th largest city in the US. 2. They are going to get fans from Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri because there are no major teams in those states. 3. KC is in the middle of the US so when they fly somewhere or when people fly to them, they will never have to travel more then half the distance of the US, which is good when you get to playoffs.

I was thinking since the Sonic’s owner wants to move them, they sould come and keep their name. Or the LA Kings. KC loves their teams, they shut down when the Cheifs are on and even though the Royals suck…people still love them.

First, spell it Phoenix, which is the correct spelling of the bird; seems like it might be confusing, though, given that you aren’t in AZ.

Why choose Frankfort? I think you need to find out what qualifies a city for a football franchise. I don’t know anything about it, sorry, although I believe that it has something to do with there being a large enough population base to support the team and probably some tax incenetives as well.

Well the market is for one…For example San Diego Chargers….well San Diego is a HUGE market for money. Of course the more the population is, the more chance of customers you will receive. Well the mascot is largely picked by if teams have chosen it or not. It can also be from where they are from. For example the Green Bay Packers, they used to be a packing town.

since you choose football, you can put a team in los angeles since they got good climate and a lot of population and there is no nfl team in california i think .

You can put a team north of the border in Canada (toronto , montreal or vancouver ) those are the biggest cities. They dont have an nfl team and they got plenty of population to fill the stadium and with the can dollar has high as the us they will be competitive to get good players. however the climate in canada is getting colder in oct nov december.
