Here are some ideas: Encourage car pooling by parents dropping off/picking up kids (think of ways do motivate this and other behaviors). Organize recycling of trash. Work with local farmers to provide fresh local produce (organic would be especially nice) to the cafeteria.

In the bathrooms they should use air dryers instead of paper towels.

In classrooms have both garbage cans and recycle bins for paper. A club at school can be in charge of emptying the bins each week to recycle paper.

In cafeteria, reuse utensils and plates in cafeteria instead of using plastic utensils and paper plates.

Also, can have recycle bins in cafeteria for plastic containers, soda cans, and glass.

Have classrooms get lights that go off after 20 min if they dont have movement in the room. This saves a lot of energy if students and teachers are gone for a while but forget to turn the lights off.
