Find the coordinates of the midpoint of the segment with the given endpoints.?
2.) L(4,2) and P(0,2)
3.) H(-5,5) and I(7,3)
4.)G(-2,-8) and H(-3,-12)
Can You Answer This? xD

0 – -1 = 1. so the y distance to the midpoint is 1/2 = 1/2
now, add the x and y distance to the starting point (4, -1) and you get (5, -1/2)
2. 0 – 4 = -4 , x dist = -4/2 = -2
2 – 2 = 0, y dist = 0/2 = 0 , add to starting point (4,2) get (2,2)
3. 7 – -5 = 12 12/2 = 6
3 – 5 = -1 -2/2 = -1 add (6,-1) to (-5, 5) get (1, 4)
4. -3 – -2 = -1 , -12 – -8 = -4
add (-1/2, -2) to (-2, -8) = (-2 1/2, -10)
1) (5, -1/2)
2) (2, 2)
3) (1, 4)
4) (-5/2, -10)
of course, I used the midpoint formula. ( y1+y2/2, x1+x2/2)
in a sense, the midpoint is the average.
hope that helps!
