if one is the factor of the other, the LCM is the bigger number and the GCF is the smaller number, lets take 5 and 25 for example 5 is a factor of 25. there list common multiple is 25, and there greatest common factor is 5, cause 5 can divide both.

Assuming they are different numbers, GCF is the smaller number, because both are factors of the smallest.
LCM would be the larger number, because every number is a factor of itself and one and is already a multiple of the smaller.
