Evaluate the expresion -c+ a – b when a = 5, b= -9, and c = 3?

substitute the value of each variable

-c+a-b=-3+5-(-9)=-3+5+9=2+9=11

-c+a-b=-3+5-(-9)

=-3+5+9

= -3+14

=11

-c + a – b

-(3) + (5) – (-9)

-3 + 5 + 9

2 + 9 = 11

you just sustitute the numbers in

step 1: -c+a-b

step 2: a=5 so -c+5-b

step 3: b=-9 so -c+5-(-9) *two negatives make a postive*

step 4: c=3 so -3+5+9

step 5: your answer is 11
