English Question?

The Wanderer is the poems Title.

In his journeys, the speaker in “The Wanderer” learned many lessons. He talks about one of the lesson in lines 12 to 13, when he says

“I have learned truly/ the mark of a man Is keeping his counsel/and locking his lips”

Why does the speaker believe this, and how has this belief shaped his actions? Answer these questions in a one to two paragraph response. Be sure to support your ideas with evidence from the poem.

thats the question, and i really dont know how to answer it…

All help is appreciated, THANKS!!

God bless

because of the slaughter of his relatives and friends his first instinct is to seek revenge but he realizes that it is better to stand down and keep these people in his memory rather than to avenge their deaths because doing so (avenging their deaths) will not bring them back and cannot fill the void that he feels within his heart

because of this he finds new friends in case the same should come about for him.

my spin on this poem would be the old addage “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”

fine touch of class
you will have to post the poem, so that we can read and then answer. I think people are willing to help, but at the same time they are too busy to go look for the poem to answer the question.

Good luck
