What factors affected where settlers located their cities.

about the first 13 colonies.

Settlers settled near water sources like the ocean and rivers so they could get supplies easier and to better communicate up and down the east coast via ships…that’s the main reason I can think of right now

first its on the east coast its where the ships landed they used the watter ways for food and communication but more importantly they needed a safe harbor to land there ships in look at the oldest city’s today New York and Louisiana and the other thing most of them looked for is good land in the area to farm
