Do you think that this will make my teacher a bit less mad at me?

Ok, I typed my English essay all pretty, but I forgot to put it inmy bag. I,m usually good with turning in my work on time, but this time I was just so tired that I didn’t bring it to school with me.English has been one of my best classes until this year. I fell a pinch bit behind, and now it’s killing my average.I,m not asking if this is going to be 100% fool proof, but I just wondered if it might help her to consider giving me at least a FEW points. I,m not doing too good in that class because it confused me a little, plus the forgetting thing. Every other class is fine and I look like a good kid, but I think my English teacher now hates me and thinks I,m a retarded idiot that can’t do anything right.

Is this a good apology? If not, help me make it better:

“I,m sorry that I,ve been falling behind it my work, but if you give me a chance, I promise that I,ll try very hard not to let these sort of things happen again. Please take into consideration grading this. If not, i understand.”

It’s hard to judge the reaction of a person without knowing anything about them. I would turn in the paper that you forgot, regardless of what the teacher says about the grade. If she says that it’s too late to receive a grade for the assignment, ask her if she would be willing to read over it and give you feedback anyway. Don’t push or beg her to accept it, but let her know you would still value her opinion on your writing.

A written apology is nice, but teachers are much more likely to notice an actual increase in productivity. If you apply yourself from this point forward, and turn in your assignments on time, then you may be able to approach the teacher at a later date and discuss extra credit to make up for the beginning of the term if your average is suffering.

An English teacher would appreicate you using the correct puncuation marks.

not I,m

but I’m

Drop the begging for special consideration. Ask if you can stay after school to get more help. Or a chance to finish your work before you leave. You could hand it in early.

Most important – if you promise to try harder, you have to really mean it. No accuses. No playing around. No goofing off. No excuses. got it?

If your teacher is a real teacher then she shouldn’t judge you for one mistake. So what? You forgot an assignement. Don’t worry about an apology, just ask what your grade is and simply tell yor teacher that you really need some more points. If he/she says they don’t have any extragredit or anything, then too bad. It’s the truth and you will just have to deal with it until you start a ew quarter/semester.

That’s not going to get you anywhere. If I were your English teacher I would be pissed that you even came to me with an apology. Instead of saying sorry and asking for a chance to prove yourself, just prove yourself and do not make excuses. Also, to improve your English grade you may want to actually use apostrophes instead of commas.

You shouldn’t have to make a formal apology for forgetting your homework

You’re taking it way too seriously

Just ask her if she’ll give you partial credit

A decent teacher will realize kids mess up and make mistakes…

if you feel the need to apolgize don’t say that!! it sounds to me like you are begging!!

just stay after class and ask for help understanding what ever it is that you didn’t understand.

that will go further that begging for a “few points”
