Confussed on this one math question?

I’ve been trying to figure this question out for a couple of days now and still can’t figure it out could someone please help me. Its about Angle Relationships.

Two lines intersect. Angles 2 and 4, angles 1 and 3 are vertical angles. Angles 1 and 2 are supplementary.

Angle 1 is (3x) degrees Angle 2 is y degrees Angle 3 is 75 degrees

Angles 1 and 3 are supplementary. Therefore, 3x + y = 180

Because the angles are made of two lines that intersect, then angles 2 and 3 are also supplementary. Therefore, y + 75 = 180

so we have two equations:

3x + y = 180

y + 75 = 180

from the second equation: y = 180 – 75 = 105

if you want to find x:

substitute into the first equation: 3x + 105 = 180

3x = 180 – 105

3x = 75

x = 25
