the first step is to distribute over the brackets…this just means to multiply out both sides of the equation:

99-9k=9k-27

next, lets move all your variables to the left side of the equation:

99-9k-9k=9k-27-9k which becomes 99-18k=-27

next, move all your numerals to the right side of the equation:

99-18k-99=-27-99 which becomes: -18k=-126

lastly, you need to isolate k by removing its multiplier of -18 (we do this through division):

-18k/-18=-126/-18 which becomes k=7

now, you should be able to follow these steps to work out the next problem…if you still can’t get it, ask again

99 – 9k = 9k – 27

-18k = -126

k = 7

12d + 6 = 18 – 48 + 9d

3d = -30 – 6

3d = -36

d = 12

99-9k=9k-27

99+27=9k+9k

126=18k

126/18=k

7=k

12d+6=18-48+9d

12d-9d=18-48-6

3d=-36

d=-12
