The wind is invisible…yet, it is present everywhere. Therefor it ‘carries’ secrets of all origins. The question is asking if you have the ability to be so open minded, and wise, as to utilize all the resources availible to you in this world to create a beautiful and unique masterpiece of your life. 🙂

i think that whole song is about being a part of nature not trying to own it and acceptance. she is asking if you can be apart of the world that the natives lived and not destroy it. can you understand where they are coming from? painting with all the colors of the wind means i suppose that you are working with what you have and not forcing anything. the part about hearing the wolf cry to the moon is just describing what the color of the moon was and maybe the season as well. blue corn is a real thing, most commonly today in the usa we see it made into tortilla chips. the cool thing about music is that often it’s real meaning is not all about the lyrics but also about the tune that goes with it. what does the song make you feel or think about? to me it reminds me of cool summer nights and the quietness that comes with being out there in nature. there is a softness to a forest even in the daylight and beauty in watching rain falling softly through the trees or in hearing the wind playing through the trees making them all rustle and sway. when i was a kid i used to set in the woods and pretend i was a tree. for hours i would do what most thought i could not, be absolutely still.

The song is about living in harmony with nature and the environment. For some people, the environment is only a source of wealth and they will do anything to tap that source, without putting anything back. For Pocahontas, the plants and animals are living spirits, her brothers/sisters and friends, and she shows respect for all of nature.

“Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?” may thus mean, “Can you picture yourself being as one and in harmony with the world around you?”

Pocahontas is asking if you can connect with nature, if you can value nature and treasure it. She makes allusions to nature using metaphors/personification, to describe it as something beautiful, something you should treasure.

she is asking if you can use nature for all it’s worth. use a balance, take and give. don’t be selfish.
