Can Winston Smith be considered a hero in George Orwell’s 1984?

I’m just a little confused because qualities that define a hero are loyalty, risk-taking, determination, and everything like that. And Winston Smith does most of that, but some sites say he has no heroic qualities.

howdy! i’m inspired with you! i’m a former English instructor, and that i’m a author now. you have finished precisely what you necessary to do to coach to place in writing an extremely sturdy essay! . you have your intro paragraph the place you clarify what you are going to tell, .that’s your intro paragraph 2d paragraph (or section), take a stand and say he’s not a hero, and use your examples you suggested already. third paragraph (or section) take a stand and say “on the different hand,” Wiston had many heroic characteristics and took heroic movements. supply your examples. THEN, the 4th paragraph (or section) You weigh the positives and negatives you suggested, and make your very own selection. That “greater desirable-fantastic numbered” occasion could be a sturdy one to apply on your very final paragraph of end. you establish if he’s a hero or no longer. it is your paper. you would be backing up your opinion with a quote–so it is not argue cloth, ya be attentive to. yet do it this style, and whoever grades the paper won’t argue with you. you’re making a fact and back it up with a quote or e book reference. I guess that’s precisely what your instructor needed. Drop me an digital mail listed on my account if i’d properly be of greater help. super philosopher AWARD!
