y+6= -1/4(x+5)

y+6= -1/4x-5/4 Distribute -1/4

y= -1/4x-29/4 subtract 6 from -5/4

Answer= Slope is -1/4

(The slope is the number before the x)

Step 1: y + 6 = (-1/4)(x + 5) Re-write the problem 😀

Step 2: y + 6 = (-1/4)(x+5) carry the -1/4 in using multiplication

Step 3: y + 6 = -1/4x -5/4

Step 4: You can stop here since you only need the slope. slope = -1/4

Yeah, I may be wrong but isn’t it just -1/4?

Distribute -1/4 throughout (x+5) and then isolate the y by subtracting 6.

i think its just -1/4

no fancy equation, its sitting in the middle of the problem.

the wole thing is (y-y1)=m(x-x1). the m is the slope, and thats where the -1/4 is in urs, you dont even have to mess with it.
