Can someone please post instructions to MLA format? I’m doing an essay for HIGH SCHOOL. Thank you.?

I’m doing an essay on “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom. I need to know some details about how to format my essay into MLA format, like… what do I do with the title? How do I get those page numbers up in the corner? How much space do I need in between the lines? I don’t really need to know much about citation, I already have that done. I just need to know how to format my essay properly. PLEASE HELP.

1 inch margins all the way around (check this, because word defaults to 1.25)

center title; no bold, no underline

double space

for page numbers go to “view” and “header and footer”- use auto text for numbering

your essay should be in either times New roman or Ariel font and should be in either 10pt or 12pt font size. you should double space your essay. to do that you go to format and then go to paragraph then go to spacing and click on double space. the title should be centered and in bold face and by your essay being set up double space you don’t have to hit enter twice. go to insert and click page numbers and go from there. just for future references MLA format deals with the citations mostly. and since you already know how to do that the rest of what i have wrote should be of some help. let me know if it does and what you get on your essay. K!!! Thx. and your welcome LOL!!!

Here is a sentence that suggests how your writing should look on the pages you type so carefully. By the way, turn on the spell check. Only use the grammar check if you feel it truly helps you.
