if this is (1/x) +1, then f'(x) = -1/(x^2), and f'(2) = -1/4

if this is 1/(x+1), then f'(x) = -1/(x+1)^2, and f'(2) = -1/9

the answer for derivative of f(x) is f'(x) = -1/x^2..

when x=2, the answer would be f'(x)= -1/ 2^2 = -1/4

how to diffentiate it, basically, 1/x = x^-1. you bring the power in front, and the power on top of the unknown (x), being minus by 1…that’s result, -x^-2 = -1/x^2…

It depends, are you saying:

(1/x) + 1

or

1/(x+1)

If its (1/x)+1

The derivative would be – x^(-2)

Therefore it woudl be -1/4

If its 1/(x+1)

Then the derivative would be -1/(x+1)^2

The answer would be -1/9

f(x) = 1/x+1 , if x=2

so, f(2) = 1/2+1

f(2) = 1/3
