It’s simple. Someone already gave you the answer, but I’ll go ahead and give it to you again.

first you change the fraction (3/4) into a decimal (.75). Then you want to get the variable (x) on one side by itself. Now you have to divide. You have to get the x alone so you divide. You always do the opposite of what the sign already is. For this problem the .75 is being multiplied – so all you have to do is divide it on both sides:

.75x/.75 = 27/.75

The .75 on the left side cancell out so you’re left with x = 27/.75. Which is x = 36.

I did the steps because just getting the answer doesn’t help you learn. Good luck on your homework!

First you multiply both sides by 4, that should cancel out the 4 from 3/4. Then multiply 4 by 27 to get 108. Finally divide 108 by 3 to get a final answer of 36.

3/4 x = 27

multiply by the inverse of the fraction

(4/3)(3/4) x = (4/3)27

(4*3)/(3*4) x = (4*27/3)

1 x = (4*9)

x = 36

Convert your fraction to a decimal and it makes it easy. 3/4 is the same as .75. So .75x = 27 or What times .75 = 27?

36 x .75 = 27

3/4x=27

4/3*(3/4x)=27*4/3

x=108/3 =36

multiply both sides by 4/3 to get x by itself (3/4*4/3=1)

27 times 4 divided by 3 gives you 36 Good Luck
