Can someone help me find any intercepts?

I want to know if there is any intercepts for the equation

y=(x-1)(x-3)?

I placed in 0 for x and distributed x-1 and x-3 and I got

0=x2-4x+3. Then I subtracted 3 from both sides but then I got stuck because I still have that x2. Please help me. Thank you.

x-intercepts

0 = (x – 1)(x – 3)

by zero product property the RHS can only be zero if either bracket is equal to zero…

x – 1 = 0

x = 1

x – 3 = 0

x = 3

Therefore the x-intercepts are (1, 0) and (3, 0).

Now the y-intercept:

y =(0 – 1)(0 – 3) = 3

so the y-intercept is (0, 3)
