Can anyone help me with equations in slope-intercept form?

The question in my Algebra 2 book says to ” write an equation in slope-intercept form that satisfies the set of conditions ”

x-intercept= -5

y-intercept= 2

I don’t understand how to write an equation in slope-intercept form with this information.

Can someone please explain this to me?

Thanks!

write it out on graph paper or make a graph and u can figure out the slope from the line

lol well the first thing u need to do is actually find the slope:

1. get some graph paper or any paper and make a coordinate plan

2.draw a dot at (-5,0) because tat is yur x-intercept and a dot at (0,2) because tat is yur y-intercept

3.draw a line through the two points and calculate the slope

4.then place it in slope-intercept form:

y=mx+b

5. the b is the y-intercept so u put in y=mx+2 now

6. now u need to add the slope in the m-variable place
