Brown…bear….?

A kind of brown bear takes its name from a north american island that is its natural habitat. Name this island in the Gulf of Mexico.

I know this is really easy! But i forgot thanks for all the help!

I would say Kodiak bear, but Kodiak Island is nowhere near the Gulf of Mexico.

I think you mean the Gulf of Alaska rather than the Gulf of Mexico. It would be the Kodiak bear, which takes its name from the Kodiak Archipelago (group of islands) in the Gulf of Mexico. See the sources below for some articles.
