Are there any sexual parts in “The Things They Carried”?
My 12 year old niece wants to read The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien. Since I’ve never read the book, I want to know if its an appropriate book. Is there any sexual/romance parts in there that are not okay for her age?

Would you trust an answer from anyone? If you put prime on your niece’s innocence, then you’d probably read it yourself or suggest some other book.

i havent personally read the book but i just checked an overview of the book and i suggest that you take a look too, it sounds a little mature for a 12 year old unless she is mature for her age and could read older books, unless so she may have to wait, i suggest that option. it contains sexual, drug and death references.
