When I draw lines say 2’23/4″ I get 2’53/4″ what do I need to change

Autocad is assuming the you wont 2′ 23/4″ so it figures that 23/4 = 5 3/4″ what you need to do is type 2’2-3/4″ this will seporate the inches from the fractions.
