In a whole week you couldn’t do a search on the possible elephant population of Australia? You’ve got less than two hours to find out, eh?

No there are no elephants native to Australia. There are native only to Africa and Asia, hence the name African and Asian or Asiatic elephants.

10 Asian elephants is a decent answer. It was correct as of October 2004.

See http://www.hsi.org.au/news_library_events/Elephants%20in%20Zoos/PVA_Report.pdf

You could answer “Zero elephants roaming wild.”
