at 10:30 am. two planes leave Houston, one flying east at 560km/h and the other flying west at 640 km/h. at what time will they be 2100 km apart?
we have to just figure out the equation, then solve it.

So since they’re flying away you add the two distances up. using the distance formula (D=rt) plane 1’s distance (560t) + plane 2’s distance (640t)=2100. then dont forget to multiply fractions by 60 for the mins. The answer should come out ot be 1 hr. 45 min.
sorry I forgot, then add that to 10:30 and it should be the time it takes to be apart.

Since they are going in opposite directions, add their speeds together to see how far apart they get in an hour. Then divide 2100 by this to see how many hours it takes to get 2100 kn apart.

just calculate the time.
they leave at 10:30
first figure out when the one going east will be half 2100 km apart
then do the second one and calculate it
