Algebra 2 homework help please!!?
i have been ill and missed this whole chapter. need help:
Problem: the variables x and y vary directly. Use the model y=kx to find k and write an equation that relates the variables–
1) when x= 2 , y=6
2)when x=4, y= -10

Second one is (-5/2).
For this just substitue y and x and solve for k.

ok so for the first one you substitute 2 for X and 6 for Y and you end up with 6=k2 divide both sides of the equation by two to eliminate the two on the right hand side… you end up with 3 equals K which means the answer to the first on is 3…. for the second one you substitute numbers for ht eletters like before and get -10=k4 divide both sides of the equation by 4 to eliminate the 4 and you end up with k equaling -5/2
