Solve:

-12=7-y/3

hi. im taking algebra 1 also.

1.) multiply -12 by 3

2.) you get -36 =7-y

3.) add seven to -36

4.) you get _= y

-12 – 7 = -y/3

( -12 – 7 ) * 3 = -y

-1[ ( -12 – 7 ) * 3 ] = y

(-12)=7-y/3

7-19 = (-12) so y/3 = 19, so we’ll be working with 19

3×19=y

Subtract 7 from both sides, you get -19 equals -y/3, multiply both sides by -3 you get the answer equal to y.
