If it’s not minus 3g, then what is the function between 10 and negative 3g? Is it multiplied?

Essentially, you just need to combine like terms to simplify the equation and then solve for your g. If it were minus 3g:

1.) combine like terms: subtract 10 from both sides and combine your g’s

26 = g + 10 – 3g

26 – 10 = g – 3g + 10 – 10

16 = -2g

2.) solve for g: divide both sides by -2

16 = -2g

16/-2 = -2g/-2

-8 = g

This is how you would answer it. If there is another function between the 10 and the -3g, then use the same steps, but take that into account.

ok…

since you have g and -3g….combine them and you get -2g so now it is 26=10-2g now move the 10 to the other side of the equation by subtracting 10 from both sides..

you get 16= -2g now you need to get g alone..so you divide both sides by -2…and you get g= -8

P.S. It does not matter if it is minus 3g or negative 3g..it is the same thing..if it were minus negative 3g..then it would turn into positive 3g

All you have to do is isolate the variable. That sounds really complicated but it just means that you have to get g by itself. You have to subtract 10 to both sides of the equation. That makes it 16=g -3g then you have to combine like terms, and you get 16=-2g then to get g by itself divide both sides by -2 and the answer is -8=g

26=g+10(-3g) <--- Multiplying here?? 26=g-30g 26=(-29g) 26/-29=-29/-29g -.9=g
