Well, it depends on what you mean, and where you live.

If you mean finish your highschool education, then there are many options from vocational schools to college prep high school programs.

If you mean you want a state certified and issued diploma and transcript, your choices would be limited to programs accredited and approved by your state’s education agency.

Homeschooling laws very from state to state, and your state may offer online highschool as an extension of your local public school, you would need to check hslda.org and your school district website to see if this is an option.

Not sure what you mean by “I am not able to leave my home to go to school due to lack of transportation” If you live a certain distance away from a school, at least in my state, they must provide bus service. And even for students that live within the outer limits of that, services are available for a small charge.

If transportation is your only concern, you need to talk to your parents and your highschool.

I use Penn Foster High School. You can work online or through the mail. It’s a private home school, but it’s not expensive. It’s $900 in total, but you pay $34 a month if you can’t pay the $900 all at once. The books are great because they are straight to the point. Oh, and the $900 includes all four years of high school. The school is accredited and even have a college that you can attend later on. Also, if you are past the 9th grade and have already earned some credits with a regular high school, they will acredit you those classes which will make your tuition a lot cheaper. All you would have to do it send them your transcripts. I’ll list their website.

As long as you are willing to pay for it, there are most definitely options available. Some choices are Laurel Springs School, University of Miami Online High School, Penn Foster High School, and many, many more.

You will want to make sure that whatever you choose is regionally accredited, so that there will be no doubt of acceptance by employers and colleges.

Only accredited degrees are allowed. Who cares? GED is super easy. Edit – what the below poster said is true. The GED’s are only accepted if the recruiting office has a GED slot for that months. Works the same in all branches but the Air Force. So because one office dont have a GED slot that month means nothing. Either try the next month or go to another nearby recruiting office. Stick with it and you’ll find one eventually.
