All of those schools would look seriously at your application.

Don’t forget the Naval Academy and West Point if you are willing to do some military time.

By all means look into Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Cornell.

A great back up school is Georgia Tech, as well as Florida State.

One of the finest engineering programs in the country is at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Invest the $8 and do a search on the USNews.com/rankingsandreviews/ website. They will give you rankings of engineering programs.

Also, if financing is an issue, most colleges with major engineering programs also have ROTC and those guys are usually pretty generous with the scholarship money. One of my kids got a wonderful free ride with NROTC.

How did you get a 4.7 GPA with only one AP class? Something isn’t quite right, unless you’ve taken a lot of college courses already. If I take your numbers at face value, you would have a chance, but I worry about the fact that you don’t have anything BUT school, since all of the applicants to those schools have great grades and scores. Also, what I don’t know is if you have taken the most rigorous program possible at your high school. If you could have taken tougher classes, but didn’t, that would go against you. I think it is worth applying to the schools you are interested in, but don’t set your heart on it, since it is never a sure thing. On the bright side, there is nothing shitty about the University of South Carolina, so you won’t be completely without a chance at a good education!

Some people would say something like “You can do anything, just keep trying” but if you are a senior you cant really try any more. Although all of those schools are exceptional colleges, with that SAT score (well done, by the way), i think it would be worth applying to any and all of the above schools. Good luck!!!!!!

I think you have a pretty good chance of getting into at least one of those, if not more. In any case, you’ll definitely get into your state colleges so you don’t have to try very hard on the app and you can concentrate on the other ones, lol. Go for it!
