Perhaps the public school your daughter attends has tutoring help. However, if you have contacted them about your daughter being bullied, and the problem has not been alleviated, you might want to consider pulling your daughter out of the school and finding another school or homeschooling her.

I am a single parent who homeschools my only child, a 7-year-old boy. Homeschooling does not have to be expensive; you can use library books, books from the thrift store, etc. It is also possible that your public school system may offer a “public school at home” program.

The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has information on how to legally homeschool in your state and on how to get started with homeschooling; the link is below:

http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp

There is an organization that gives used home school curriculum to those who need it; the link is below:

If you would like more information about homeschooling, please e-mail me off list.

I hope the above is helpful.

Since you are not working you will do the teaching yourself. As far as help with paying for it, unless you use a Public School at Home program you will have to pay for it yourself. The library has almost everything you really need though.

If you want to look into a public school at home program (which is legally not the same as homeschooling, but practically is very similar), go to http://www.k12.com and see if they have a program in your state.

Otherwise, check out Book Samaritan (someone else already gave you the link). Or do yourself with the library using this typical course of study as a guide: http://www.worldbook.com/wb/Students?curriculum

I don’t know what state you are in or if you mean you want her to learn at home, but if it helps any my kids learn at home in a cyber school. The school lets the kids borrow a computer and they have classes online at certain times. It’s free. I live in PA, and I know there are different schools like this here, and there are students in their school from Ohio and New Mexico. Look online for cyber schools, and see what your choices are.

I was bullied in school, but my children have never set foot in a situation like that. They are stronger inside, and happier, than I ever will be!

If you aren’t working, you can homeschool her yourself.
