I agree at 22 months the primary schooling will look like reading great books to him and developing his vocabulary by having good conversations with him. This is a great time for you to begin researching the world of homeschooling and asking questions of veteram homeschoolers so you can determine if this is the best course of action for your family.

As to which is better, that decision will likely be made based on your personal convictions and time commitment. Each state/country has varying rules and requirements for their homeschoolers. The first step is to get informed about those requirements. Many a fellow mom and dad felt like you….ill equipped but you would probably agree that you are the one person who has your son’s best interests at heart. No one wants him to succeed and learn more than you…which makes you a great candidate for being his educator! There are tons of resources for curriculum out there when the time comes.

If, however, you can’t take the time to work with your son, then christian school or public is an option you should consider.

22 months is a bit early to start homeschooling but a great age to think about curriculum. 1st I’d start off by choosing the curriculum you’d like to use by researching on the internet. Most places I’ve seen will ship internationally. eBay also has homeschooling resources. If I remember correctly Indonesia is a mostly Muslim country. I don’t know if you’ll have problems getting Chrisitian materials shipped there. My final idea would be to join a message board or buddy group (you can find some on Yahoo) and ask them what they think. They may even be able to ship the items for you and label them as ‘gifts’ so they can pass inspection. Good luck!
