Just a thought. Check with your old friends at your high school and see if someone wants to go with you just as friends. You don’t have to be dating to go to a dance.

yeah… probably not. Many state homeschooling groups do have Proms, but not many have homecoming, because no one is coming home to watch a football game. Usually Homecoming is a time when a public school invites back past students to watch a football game and then there is a dance afterwords.- Not going to happen with Homeschoolers.

Are you looking for an excuse to buy a nice dress and go dancing? Check out under 18 clubs or ask your parents and friends where they go for a night out. That would be a better option for you.

My daughter is going to the local high school dance with a friend from ANOTHER school in the area. She is Home schooled. In Florida I know that home schoolers can participate in any function, club or sport at the high school they are zoned for if they choose. They can even take a class or two. Don’t listen to people like the first couple of answerer’s that don’t have a clue. Call your school and see what the policy is, or better yet, do some research at www.hslda.org. Some times the school doesn’t even have a clue, so double check everything.

Ignore the igorant and rude answers from above.

Many homeschooling groups throw their own homecomings. Find a homeschooling group in your area and see if they have one. If they don’t, then maybe suggest having one.

Homecoming for Homeschoolers? Is the football game in your backyard between Uncle Bob’s Blue team and Uncle Mike’s Red team? Is the dance afterwards in your basement?

probably at your house?

common sense would tell you that you gave up the right to all the school functions that are provided to public students when you or your parents decided to homeschool you….one on life’s little lessons
