Work study? Do i have to earn all that money?
So i’m getting a second job which pays less but I get to do my homework at hte same time so it’s not that bad.
What i’m wondering is (i hate my first job–at the gym) is am I responsible for the work study b/c if its a loan, why are they going to pay me directly. I want to focus on school work so If i’m not responsible for my work study, meaning i won’t have to take out a loan if I don’t get the 1500, i would rather quit.

The amount of WS your were awarded is the amount you COULD earn. IT IS NOT A LOAN. You may or may not earn this amount based on school work or whatever. You do have to work to earn this and I have never heard of a student that should go out and find a job. The financial office should be placing you in a department usually on campus, but not necessarily. The on campus jobs are usually from departments that are looking for student help. Go back to the office and talk to someone else. Things dont seem right based on what you wrote
It’s just to allow you to have spending money, since if you have gotten work study they realize that you may not be able to afford campus activities or other necessities.
