Have you taken you the ACT yet? That’s important as well, if you haven’t make you take it and you are happy with your score. Keep up the good grades and if you want to be more active in programs by all means do so. Have you though about doing a foreign exchange program for next summer? That would look great on your transcript and not the mention the experience you would gain from it.

If you know what you want to major in college then you can start looking at scholarships but for most you won’t be able to apply for then until you are a senior or have picked the school you are going to attend.

The requirements on scholarships differ for each one you apply for so you want to make sure you pertain to the ones you are applying for. Most will ask have certain GPA, school and major criteria, so make sure you meet the requirements before applying.

Good Luck!

The best advice is to keep is to keep studying and make sure to take the SAT and ACTs this year. If you are considering playing sports in college, consider division one and division two schools since they give athletic scholarships along with entering your information into the NCAA database. Also, you should begin your scholarship search now. I will include some other free resources to help you find money for college.

First, your high school guidance office has a list of local scholarship and state grant programs.

Second, the local library has a book listing scholarships with some not even located on the web.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for almost anything out there. I recommend applying to as many scholarships that you qualify for on their characteristics.

Good luck!

howdy Tegan! i’m going to commence off with the glaring. Grades will depend. era. I don’t think they give out scholarships this early on for college. Usually you start applying for those in your Junior year in High School. It doesn’t hurt to start looking at what scholarships you may be eligible for around First year of High School though.

That said most colleges do not even look at anything you did in junior high unless it is something you continued to do in High School.

I think you should try out some new hobbies and find something that you like ( even something that may be unusual) that will help you stand out from everyone else. Maybe Karate, Joining Habitat for Humanity, Learning how to sew and making blankets for Homeless people.
