Can you have both the Stafford & Perkins Loans?
Or are they not given together?

Absolutely! As long as you meet the income requirements for a Perkins loan, you can get both.

While the best person to consult is the Financial aid office. I have received Stafford loans in conjunction with Perkins loans. The Perkins loan was only will I was pursuing certain courses though.
Again consult your financial aid office or even one at a school your not attending to confirm.

Yes, after you receive the federal loans and you need more but can get a private loan, some schools offer Perkins loans as another resource. You do have to meet income guidelines but you can definitely have both types at the same time. I used to work for a student loan company and it’s very common to have both.
