There are several ways you can pay for college: out of pocket, using grants (from the university and outside sources), university provided financial aid, and loans.
You stated paying for the money out of pocket isn’t a option So I think you should look at the school to help you get financial aid.
I would suggest starting by completing the FAFSA form. Their website has tons of information that with looking for money.
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
I would also suggest using www. fastweb.com. This website will help you find scholarships for smaller amounts but this will help you pay for books and other fees that will come up once you start school.
You can also look into speaking with a university staff member in the Financial Aid or scholarships and grants office. These individuals know the university and outside sources that will be able to help you out.
I would also look for jobs at the university. At many colleges staff are allowed to take a certain number of classes each semester for free. If you or your wife work for the school you would get to go to school free or get a percentage off.
Talk to a financial aid officer at the school for more information/guidance.
Good luck!
