Different states have different laws about this I believe, but in Florida if you make over a certain amount of money per month you would not qualify. Look up the poverty guidelines for your family size if your under that you should be fine. But the government is a tricky thing. I make about 2000 per month and I have a disabled child. I don’t qualify for any help. But that could be different for you since you are pregnant. It might be worth it to cut back on your hours at work to meet the guidelines. You might bring less home but trust me having a child is very expensive. Good-luck and congratulations on your baby and getting married.

I am on Medicaid too, I doubt you will lose Medicaid if you get married cause you were on it before you were pregnant, call up your case worker at the Medicaid office in your area ask her, she will tell you. If your fiance doesnot have coverage then you should be okay, but do call to make sure.

By law, you are mandated to report any adjustments in your status including marriage. Also, if you have not applied for WIC, I recommend doing it because it is for pregnant women and can bring in a little more help each month to your household. No you will not lose your medicaid if you get married but if you’re getting any other type of assistance (food, cash, etc) from the gov’t they will factor in both your incomes, which means your aid will be reduced. In my personal experience since I knew I wouldn’t need it for long I didn’t bother telling them I was getting married because we couldn’t afford them reducing my aid at that time.
