Apply for scholarships they have billions of dollars to help people out. (see below)

Find out what the tax breaks are some for that money is tax deductable.

Look for programs that will pay back the loans. Teaching and the military are two jobs that have loan repayment programs.

Talk to the counselor at the school, they may have other avenues to pay for school some school have jobs you can perform in exchange for tuition reduction.

Finally a college educated person can expect to earn “$2.1 million working full-time between ages 25 and 64, which demographers call a typical work-life period. A master’s degree-holder is projected to earn $2.5 million, while someone with a professional degree, such as a doctor or lawyer, could make even more — $4.4 million.” CNN

If it’s the kind of career that will pay off soon after college I’d say tough it out and go.

For instance, I’m going as a Business major for Entrepreneurship (to own my own business later on) but even tho I have a way to go to open my own business the fact that my education is current gets me better jobs NOW. You may need to discuss that with your husband too.

Is it the kind of education that will benefit you now? I tell you I go hungry while in college and every aced test is oh-so worth it to me. There are rewards in the work field for people who are educating themselves. If you can manage to scrape the rest of the monies due I think you’ll find it well worth it in the long run. Education pays!

Follow your heart. If this is your passion and you are also bettering yourself then why not. Does your husband respect and support you in other areas of your life.

As already said this career move will not only benefit you, but your family also. Don’t let this be something that becomes a regret.

Do you have a faith? Pray on it. If it’s meant for you to pursue then a way will be made. If your husband doesn’t support you in your dreams then this isn’t your only issue to deal with going forward.

Research all your options before just giving up.

Good Luck!!

Well your husband might have a point if you are going into a program that isn’t going to earn you a higher wage than you are earning now. Always look at all your options. Try a cheaper school, after two years when you are sure you are really in the field you want, then transfer in the more expensive school and borrow the money.

I would suggest looking into community colleges before heading to a school that will cost so much. Specially since your considering looking for a different career. Good luck!

You should see if there is a community college in your area, the classes might be offered at a lower rate.

I think its a sacrifice worthwhile, in the end you will be making a lot more than you could without a degree.
