How much minority blood do you need to count?
I’m filling out crap for college scholarships and such and I’m wondering if I’m allowed to check “Minority Background” for “American Indian”, with only a 16th of my ancestry being AI and that being split between two tribes. I also have a lot of other random ethnicities that could count for random scholarships and I just want to know how much is enough to count?

you have to be an ENROLLED member of a FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED TRIBE to check that box, otherwise it’s considered FRAUD.
It’s not QUANTUM as much as it is QUALITY. Real skins don’t go checking CDIB’s, we don’t CARE how much blood you are if you know your people, culture, traditions.
I’ve met FBI that couldn’t make fire if their life depended on it. They don’t know their language, culture etc they might as well be white people.
Your own tribe will decide on enrollment, some go by lineage, some go by blood quantum. But until you have that card that says your an enrolled tribal member, don’t check that box. It’s actually a FEDERAL charge.

Any college will acknowledge your ethnicity if it is 1/8th or more.
Your cutting it very close, but it is definitely accepted.

you need to be 1/8 or more in most situations to be considered “tribal”
