How do i get a loan with no co-signer?

my parents are both bankrupt, i tried my grandmother, cousins, boyfriend, friends, friends parents, godmother…pretty much everyone i could think of but i can’t use them as a co-signer…either they don’t have enough credit, or they don’t have good credit. I can’t use myself because i don’t have enough credit history, what do i do?

You need to apply for a federal student loan. Don’t take out a substandard private loan. Those companies are out to make money. Federal student loans do not require cosigners or even a credit check. Follow recentgradtrish’s advise to apply. I’ve attached a Dept of Ed publication regarding the loan maximum and minimum amounts and the interest rates.

The best type of student loan to get is a federal government loan. Here’s what you need to do to get one:

1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here:

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don’t need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here:

3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here:

You can also try to get a grant or scholarship, which is free money that you won’t have to pay back. You can read about them here:

And here are some good sites that offer grants and scholarships:

Good luck!

I don’t know what kind of loan you are trying to get.

If it’s a car loan they will usually loan you the money as long as you have a job but the interest will be high.

If it’s a house you need to have a credit score of at least 620 (most times) to get pre-approved.

If it’s a school loan you shouldn’t have a problem at all.

If it’s a personal loan with no collateral they’re probably not going to loan you anything without a high credit score.

If it’s a credit card you can probably get one as long as you have a job but, again, it will be at a high interest rate.

Hope this helps.

Depends on what the loan is for. You’re probably going to have to shop for a creditor who will give you the loan with yoru credit but it means you will end up paying more for it.
