financial aid problem help PLs?

during the fall and spring I took 20 credits but in fall I dropped 4 credit course and in spring I dropped another so out of the 20 credits I only finished 12 which put me at 60% out of the 67 that I needed to get financial aid the next year I put in an appeal saying why I dropped the classes in fall but there mainly looking at the spring one which I have no excuse for I also took 2 more classes which were 6 credits and finished which would of put me at 69% but they just told me that summer doesn’t count toward the standards of academic progress and that they only look at fall and spring so my question is does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this thanks

Unfortunately your appeal is being based on institutional policies. If the appeal committee says you don’t meet the minimum academic standards and your aid is being denied then you are out of luck. If that is the case I suggest you meet with a counselor in the aid office to determine what are your options. Usually, students take classes by paying for them out of pocket until they complete enough to get their completion rate up.
