You can also check with your guidance counselor at school, who might have a book of local scholarships, which tend to be a little easier. (My counselor did.) If he doesn’t, check with your elementary school, middle school, local police and fire departments, and Kiwanis or Lions clubs. Those groups often offer scholarships to local kids.

Also meet with you guidance counselor. She should have the info on the FAFSA, financial aid, and local scholarships.
