All College Students: Do you have to write in cursive?

Ok, I’m curious about this… In college, do you have to write in cursive? I’m in high school, and they don’t make me write in cursive (I am in the habit however because my 5th grade teacher enforced it and it stuck). Also, in middle school, they didn’t enforce that either. But, the case is, the majority of the people I know haven’t written in print since elementary. A few haven’t written in cursive for so long that they can’t even read it fluently! I was curious because I’m afraid that those that go to college will get a rude awakening when the professor instructs them to write in cursive and half the kids can’t even read it. So, do the colleges enforce cursive?

In college, I wrote in print when I took notes. For the most part, if you have to turn something in, it will be typed. For tests and other things that didn’t require typed work, the teachers really just cared that it was legible.

no, colleges could usually care less whether you write in cursive or print. However, I would think that most professors prefer handwritten assignments be done in print because they tend to be more easily read. (but really most of the stuff you do anyways will be typed on the computer)

I usually only write in print. When I do cursive, I usually mix in printed letters because I can’t remember how to make them in cursive (especially the capital letters).
