word for this facial expression?

“Mommy!” I screamed with great excitement.

“Yea Jazz?” she replied.

“I wanna go swimming!”

By now I was pulling on her pants leg.

“Please Mommy!” I had ********blah(need help here)*********{i had put on my face that had won me many battles}

she picked me up and slid me to the side of her hip. she carried me up the stair and into my room. At that point. i knew i had a way with words.

in this story im five years old…whats the name of the expression i would give if i was begging?

{i had put on my face that had won me many battles}

i was thinking about that but is that just too lame? be honest please! =]

Most folks say something like “sad puppy dog eyes”.

You might try for something more original. Look into your minds eye and see the expression on the child’s face. Is her lower lip quivering? Are her eyes real big and serious? Does she look like Puss in Boots in Shrek just before he lures someone into attack range? Describe the look that is in your mind’s eye.

I liked your origional idea, it’s not cliche, but it is descriptive nad gets the point across to the reader. worst case scenario, that (i had put on my face that had won me many battles) is too sophisticated for someone, you may actually make them think! I aplaud you.

all the exclamations and whatever make it sound very harsh when you are reading it.

i begged

I plead

I put on a face of lovelyness

then I gave her a face you couldn’t say no to.

Well you would have to see the expression to really accurately describe it. It could have been cute, sad, pathetic, excited, desperately pleading, pouty, charming, etc…… Tough to call without seeing it.

“Please, mommy!” I pleaded, pulling my face into [artificial, labored, forced] [want, longing, thirsting]…

labored wanting

artificial thirsting

forced longing

et cetera…

That’s my best guess! :o)
