Why would you write “neone” or “onli” when you could just as easily write “anyone” or “only”?
I get writing things like “u” and “plz”, but why “neone” or “onli”? “NE1” would be better than “neone”. I hope people (ppl) don’t think that “onli” is how that word is really spelled. π

It is becuz they are used to text messaging. In texting the 9 buttons on phone are used to send messages. neone would be the way to write anyone. “ne” is short for any. “one” would need to be written out since the letters underneath the numbers are what are being used. For example, #6
key has “mno” underneath. It would be tapped once for “m”, twice for “n”, three times for “o.”

its just part of the spelling phonetically trend of texting
even if they think onli is the correct spelling once they try to put it in word and get the scary red underline they’ll figure it out =D

I haven’t ever understood that. I think it’s just kids trying to be “cool” and ending up looking like morons instead π

They probaly don’t have the time to type it out. We don’t write a word and their definitions do we? It’s just a short-cut.
