why we cannot use ”THE” before India like ”the India” when we can say ‘the United Kingdom”or” The US”
Just wanna know why the usage of ”the” is inappropriate in case of India when it is right to be used with UK or US

India also has many states. It can’t be the explanation that USA has many states.
While India is a name, united is not a name itself. It is used here to specify the states of America or Kingdom of Britain. So we put ‘the’ before United as, although United is not a name, it is signifying a particular group of states.
You may change India to United States of India (USI) if possible!
Then it will be the United States of India!

Because India is already a singular thing. The United Kingdom consists of many different states within itself, and the United States consists of many different states within itself, too. But India does not, so it’s just India. Same thing with China and Africa, they are single places with countries within, but not states. Also, The Middle East, they consist of different countries, but are all different territories (because Israel isn’t a country) so it’s used to describe all of those areas in a single region.

india is 1 thing, like india is india. the uk is made up of 4 countries, the us is made up of 48 contiguis states, an island and a landmass off canada. the country has more states within it, unlike india which has places, not individual countries within it.
