Many computers are only set up in english. I suppose if you go to a computer store or even a place like geek squad you could find some kind of software that makes your computer compatible with other languages. Good luck.

Try this. In your browser menu bar choose VIEW, ENCODING, JAPANESE. There are probably two or three different Japanese encodings, so just choose them one at a time until the page looks like Japanese. You don’t need to install anything to see the characters in Japanese. Of course, you will have to be able to understand Japanese to understand the page’s meaning.

But if you want to type things in Japanese you will need some extra software. You will need to go to the Microsoft website and download something called Microsoft IME. Then you will need to go to your Control Panel and add the keyboard for Japanese language. Then you will be able to input Japanese characters with your computer.

Because of the language setting on your online browser. You’ve likely got it set to English, and your browser can’t understand what’s being said, so it gives ??? instead

Check out using Google to have it translate your Japanest web pages into English so you can understand.

Any time you get characters like that, it means that the font is not installed on some level. In order to fix the situation, you need to address that lack. It means you would need to find the missing font and install it.

Install Japanese font – Viewing Japanese characters properly

You need Japanese fonts in your system in order to view Japanese characters (Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji) properly.

When you access the Japanese page and see errors like in the table found in the link below, it means the Japanese fonts are not installed in your system. You need to install Japanese fonts.

This is simply because your computer is programed to English, not Japenese.

Your computer cannot display Janpanese symbols because it can only display the English language.

If that makes sense. =)

You can change the language on Google:
