i believe they mean, for better times and worse times, when times are good or rough we will stick together.cheating is a form of disrespect towards your partner and you may get a divorce due to it.but if you agree to forgive then it is up to you

everyone makes mistakes but cheating is an action you make after thinking about it,before going into action, think carefully, would you risk losing your partner over a quicky?

No, that is absolutely not what “for better or worse” means. It means that whatever comes FROM OUTSIDE, you will deal with it together. If you win the lottery, you will enjoy it together. If one of you gets cancer, you will suffer through it together, and support each other. It has nothing to do with permission to treat each other badly.

I agree that some people have misinterpreted the phrase the way you are saying, but that has never been its intent.
