People confuse a bunch of words like that. Evidently the majority of our society slacked off in 2nd grade since no one knows the difference between “it’s, its, then, than, are, our” etc.

I would say that it has to do with the fact that many people write like they speak, so with words like your and you’re, if they can’t hear the difference, they spell them interchangeably

They use improper grammar because they are lazy or ignorant. I blame shorthand on AIM, Yahoo IM, and other chat programs.
