Why can’t people correctly use the words “then” and “than”?
I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen the phrase “other then that”.

For the same reasons the don’t know the difference between “their, there and they’re”… they never learned how to use proper english and spelling.

It’s pretty obvious from all the misspellings, grammatical errors and butchered sentences, that people don’t learn much in school these days. That or they just don’t care how they present themselves.
Spellcheckers are fine and dandy, but they can’t tell a porch from a porche when used in a sentence.

I don’t know. It doesn’t seem like that difficult a concept to grasp, does it? Another one that bothers me is, for example, “I could of done that”, instead of “I could have done that”. There’s also ‘your’ and ‘you’re’. It really isn’t that hard to understand. I don’t know why so many people have such a problem with them.
